The Curation Process
Family Series Wines
Our Winemaking team embarks on pushing the boundaries & experimenting with small batches of various varieties. The Family Series is born out of these experiments to give people a glimpse of the exciting things happening behind the scenes. These wines are made in extremely limited quantities.
Pre-released wines
To reward our wine club members for their loyalty, we give our members a VIP sneak peek into our upcoming wine releases. These wines are not yet available to the general public, therefore our members are the first to get a glimpse of what the future holds.
Vinotèque
As a Saxenburg family, we are extremely proud of our rich heritage, so to showcase this, we always include a few special releases from our distinguished Vinotèque. Our Vinotèque has a library of wines dating back more than 30 years, that have all been stored in perfect conditions. For each Wine Club Case we carefully select two of these special vintage wines to be included, bringing the past to the present.
Selection of unique and thought-provoking wines
We select wines to represent the past, present, & future of Saxenburg with different varieties & styles. Each Wine Club case is carefully curated by Saxenburg’s owner, Fiona Bührer, twice a year. Our curation process takes into consideration that some wines will be enjoyed now, while others will reward being rested for a few years at our member’s home.
