Description
The Saxenburg Private Collection Syrah 2021 has a beautiful ruby colour to the wine. The nose has alluring spice notes of freshly crushed black pepper, white pepper, cloves, cumin and coriander seeds. The spice notes are lifted by violet blossoms, cassis, black cherries and ripe blackberries.
The Private Collection Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 vintage has a bright garnet and ruby colour. The nose is layered with mulberry, prune, bramble, tobacco, mocha and fynbos notes. The entry on the palate is smooth with refined, sculpted tannins, and a bright acid culminates in a dark cherry finish.
The Private Collection Chardonnay 2024 has layered tropical fruit notes of apricot, paw-paw and mango lifted with fresh citrus zest and blood orange notes. The undertones comprise of layered biscotti and shortbread characters. The wine has a zesty entry with a broad mouthfeel and lingers delightfully on the palate.
The Private Collection Sauvignon Blanc 2025 opens with delicate peach blossom and elderflower aromas, lifted by vibrant notes of apricot, nectarine, gooseberry, passion fruit, and guava. Layers of lemongrass and saline minerality, a hallmark of the ocean breezes, add intrigue and balance. On the palate, the wine is rich and silky, yet carries a lively acidity that drives a long, refreshing finish marked by lingering citrus zest.
The Limited Release Sauvignon Blanc – Semillon Blend 2021 shows a wonderful quartz-like minerality on the nose and opens to aromas of white peach, litchi, gooseberry, and lemongrass. The palate, while full and textured, is balanced by a lingering acidity.
The nose of the Private Collection Pinotage 2023 presents a vibrant bouquet of ripe cherry, Turkish delight, strawberry, and bramble fruit, complemented by hints of blackberry and raspberry. On the palate, it’s elegant and fruit-driven, with lean, fine tannins providing subtle grip and a juicy, refreshing finish.
