The Saxenburg Private Collection Pinotage 2017 is a medium-bodied Pinotage from the wonderful 2017 vintage. The vineyard used for this wine reaches physiological ripeness early, thus allowing us to pick earlier and ensuring a lower alcohol level. This wine has beautiful red fruit, plums and cherries on the nose, with hints of dark
chocolate and a beautifully long finish.

Vinification Details:	Harvested at physiological ripeness, then destemmed and fermented in open-top tanks. Thorough temperature control and 3 punch downs and pump-overs daily ensured a soft extraction. Pressed of the skins early, to prevent bitterness. Oak maturation: A combination of 2nd and 3rd fill, 300L, French oak barrels. 12 months with no racking or fining.
