Tasting Notes
The Saxenburg Private Collection Cabernet Sauvignon 1995 has enticing aromas of cassis, mulberries, and roasted coffee beans are found on the nose, while the palate is still fresh and has maintained a beautiful acidity. The tannins have softened over the years but still offers grip and interest to the palate. This was a hot and dry vintage that produced wines of great density and concentration.
We recently tasted this wine to make sure it is perfect to include in this Wine Club case. We suggest decanting before enjoying.
The colour is deep and dark red. The flavour is full-ripe and dusty with fresh black cherries. Taste is full-bodied, fruity with soft tannins, well-balanced and a strong middle palate. A perfect structure to mature into a classic Cabernet, although very accessible as a young wine.
Food Pairing
This elegant wine will compliment most red meat dishes, venison, or creamy beef stroganoff.
